About
I came across the idea for Once Fired in about the middle of August 2013. My dad had saved the old brass for quite a few years, and I wanted to put it use and do something. I asked my dad to drill a hole in a .22 shell for a earrings, and that's how it started.
My family goes shooting quite often so there was no shortage of empty shells. After ALOT of experimenting (and failures!) , we found a fairly efficient way to cut and smooth the ends of the shells.

Hi! I'm Monica and I started and created Once Fired Jewelry. I enjoy taking care of our little backyard menagerie which includes my flock of chickens, 2 goats and a hive of honeybees. I am very involved with Lewis county 4-H, and I really enjoy showing my birds and goats at county fair. In 2016, I toke up trap shooting, competing on the Carthage School Trap league against other local schools. I am back again this year and I'm excited to see that the number of schools has grown and look forward to what the season has to bring.
